“Volunteers are love in motion!” – Author Unknown

Sarah Litwin

Foster Coordinator

Sarah started volunteering as a foster for NLOL with her family in 2015 when she was in high school. One of her childhood dogs they had adopted as a senior had passed, and they were looking to help more rescue dogs in his memory. She fostered 6 dogs + a vacation foster (one of them a foster fail!) over the next 3 years until she moved away for the summers and couldn’t foster anymore.

Once Sarah moved back to the Chicago area and was out of school, she started volunteering again with NLOL, this time as the foster coordinator. It is so rewarding to work with other volunteers who love rescue dogs as much as I do and help to get them out of the shelter and into loving homes. Outside coordinating foster homes, Sarah works as a research scientist for a chemical company and has two toothless rescues of her own.

Rebecca Jeffords

Social Media Coordinator/Foster Parent

When not posting pictures of the cute doggos, Becca, works as a freelance Lighting Designer for theatre, dance and live events. Since her professional life usually involves a series of darkened rooms, it should come as no surprise that she jumps at every chance to get outside. She can be found in an ice rink or hiking any chance she gets. Becca's favorite thing about volunteering thus far has been seeing pups thrive and get the best shot at life possible (all the cute dog pictures in her social media feed doesn't hurt, also;).

Ash is a New Leash on Life adopter, foster and current adoption counselor. When not volunteering for NLOL, she is an Engineering Manager at a global Tech company. In her free time, she loves hanging out with her dog Bodhi, volunteering at rescue sanctuaries or training for some running event. Animal rescue and rehabilitation has been an important aspect of her life, since she adopted her first dog from New Leash. Ash’s favorite thing about volunteering, is to see a rescued dog given a chance to flourish with patience and love and is so thankful to be a part of an incredible group of people.
