New Leash On Life owes much of its success to our wonderful volunteers. Our volunteers play a key role in continuing New Leash On Life's mission of finding loving, responsible homes for abandoned animals. New Leash On Life Chicago is 100% volunteer run! VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Foster Coordinator

The Foster Coordinator is responsible for the continued development and sustainment of the New Leash on Life Chicago Foster Program. This position focuses on the recruitment, orientation, engagement, and coordination of fosters. Learn more about this position here.

Adoption Counselors

Volunteers assist in matching potential owners with dogs suitable to their lifestyle. They screen and counsel potential adopters, conduct home visits to ensure the safety of the animal, and perform post-adoption services. They are directly responsible for giving our animals a “New Leash On Life.”

Newsletter/Blogging

Seeking a creative volunteer to design and write the NLOL monthly Newsletter to include scheduling the communications through our Constant Contact. You would be collaborating with board members, adoption counselors and asked to attend weekly Zoom meetings.

Alumni Director

The Alumni Director maintains engagement of and relationships with NLOL alumni (adopters).

Fostering

Becoming a foster parent is a great way to get directly involved in rescue work. Foster volunteers provide a temporary, loving home until the pet can be placed in a permanent home. New Leash On Life provides for the animal’s food and medical needs. Learn more here
